Shelter From The Storm has proven it is among the best stories published in 2008, earning a top 10 finish in the Romance Novel category of the annual Preditors & Editors reader's poll. After tens of thousands of votes were cast by readers over 31 categories, the debut novel from author Molly Wens finished in ninth place among 216 romance novel nominees. There were several heavy hitters in the field this year, as nominations also went to Sherrilyn Kenyon's Acheron (which reached No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller List and was 6th in Preditors & Editors voting), Hostage to Pleasure by Nalini Singh (reached No. 20 on NYT Bestseller List and was 12th in Preditors & Editors voting), and Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton (which debuted at No. 1 on the NYT Bestseller List and finished in 20th among Preditors & Editors voters). Several other authors have had previous works make the NYT Bestseller List, including Lisa Kleypas (nominated for Blue-Eyed Devil and finished 35th in Preditors & Editors voting).
Also recognized by Preditors & Editors voters was the cover artwork for Shelter From The Storm, with designer Joey Walnuts finishing in a tie for 8th place among the 44 nominees in that division of the voting.
